Hi I am Indu, and I come from Kerala, God's own country. I am a software engineer by profession, the youngest (and pampered, says my brother) child of my parents, am married to gku and have a three year old boy, qya.
I always thought it would be tough juggling a full time job and a family, and I was not wrong. But it has been fun most of the time, and in the process, I have learnt to be more patient, forgiving and loving, and have discovered a passion for cooking. Agreed that I have always appreciated good food, but it was only after I got married, and realized (with a shock) that I won't have my mum with me all the time to serve me hot rice, chicken curry, beans thoran and moru, that I tried my hand at cooking for the first time ever (instant noodles not included). And to my surprise and joy, I found that this was fun, that I was not bad at it, infact gku said I was doing great!
It often took many lengthy discussions over phone and mail with my folks to get a hang of the ingredients, proportions and techniques involved in a recipe. Friends and I regularly discussed food as well. Like me, most of them did not have any prior cooking experience. I realized that it would be nice idea to maintain a journal of the recipes I tried out, so that others might be benefitted, plus it seemed a fun thing to do. And thus my blog was born.
Since I belong to Kerala, most of my recipes are naadan Kerala dishes, things that you most often find on the dining table of a malayali. There are a few Indian and other recipes as well.
I sincerely hope you enjoy your time here, and you drop by again, and leave your valuabe comments. So don your apron, and let's get cooking, shall we?
